It was brutally hot...but so many hipsters

Ah yes, Venice Beach . . . . . one of my favourite, strangest places.

Is that guy with the gigantic boards of biblical prophecy - some of it pornographic - still displaying himself there?

Saw a guy of about 70 years old - totally sunbrowned and wrinkled - walking barefoot on glass there, begging for coins and bills.

Love that place!!!

Although I don't reall that guy in particular even though we walked a HUGE chunk of the beach, there were loads of people with signs, some more profane than others.

I googled and finally found an example from Venice Beach . . . . . he had about 10-15 of these things. Not for sale. Just saying what he wanted to say. . . . . . this would qualify as one of the nicer ones.

Obviously it's a little rough so I'll leave it to your discretion as to whether or not you want to delete this post or re-size the image to make it an example, but unreadable.

I love this new forum!!!

I DEFINITELY did NOT see that sign or the weather beaten dude!

It doesn't offend me but it may offend some so i probably will resize it smaller.

Excuse my ignorance on the subject...but what are the advantages of satellite internet?
How does it differ from regular Hi-speed?
More expensive?
...or does it have to do with your location?

Best!

I live in the country . . . . so it's dial-up or death. Worse, country phone lines are markedly inferior to those in the city. If your neighbours are on the net, things slow to a crawl . . . . . about 10 or 15 minutes to download this page as an example.

I'm behind some big hills, so radio internet, which can be very fast, is out even though I'm fairly close to the source. They won't build a new tower anywhere near me even though the neighbours got together and tried to demonstrate a group would buy.

The only option left is satellite. That should be about 40-50 times faster than dial-up with the modest package I've ordered.

We'll see.

I was there a few years ago and it was loaded with beautiful pitties, seems to be a requirement for some of the "interesting" individuals. I found the beach to be very entertaining but once was probably enough .

Oh I would go back in a heartbeat to swim and do more photography...It's tough cuz I can photograph a place for hours but Carmy (my wife) gets bored and hates standing around while I try to compose the 'perfect' shot. When i get into that photo zone I think she thinks I'm a photo (shrug)
