Fantastic news that Honey has been found safely....I was just reading on the site that she was leashed at the time, heard a train and bolted so hard her foster Mum couldn't hold on tight enough.....the area where she was found was along traintracks. The dogs are still assimilating the sound of a train with Jean Luc their deceased caregiver

A photo of Honey reunited with her foster family:

Oh the poor dog was probably expecting to see Jean Luc at the train .

I bet he was a wonderful man.

As was I TQ...I was reading on the site that they are going to look for her and try and take along recordings of train whistles/sounds to see if that might lure her....Worst thing is it was two weeks before Timmins HS even alerted anyone. Apparently not even the local Vet had any idea she was missing.....Why on earth they didn't send out an SOS immediately ....it has now been 3 weeks

No idea Chico

I have been in touch with the rescuers and they are in critical need of foster homes for some of the dogs could you please pass this along far and wide, maybe someone you know or someone they know could assist.

Chris...really? Oh CRAP! I didn't know that! Does the OSPCA have something to do with the Timmins shelter? If they do, maybe they were scared about getting more bad press! Stupid stupid!

Apparently Timmins is the biggest city in Ontario size wise. So lots of places the poor pup could be.

They are an affiliate TQ, not governed by the OSPCA. They do have an Investigator that adheres to the OSPCA Act and trains at HO with other agents from across Ontario.

Meet Ginger.....#60

The OSPCA sent a team (finally) of 6 agents to Mile 26 on Wednesday, they stayed overnight and went again on Thursday.....On Wednesday thay came up empty handed and on Thursday managed to bring out Ginger

Name: Ginger #60.jpg
Views: 369
Size: 84.6 KB

Ginger has been fending for herself (even though the ONR staff were leaving food at Mile 26) for 2 1/2 months...she is going to need a lot of TLC

There is still a confirmed sighting of a Rottie look-a-like.

If any of you know of potential foster homes for these dogs please spread the word.

Gardiner was the first dog rescued from Mile 26, he was found in the burntout cabin soaking wet:

Pepe and I had a serious conversation about fostering/adopting a dog from Mile 26, unfortunately his side of the discussion made sense and was full of logic..........man I hate logic ....It was agreed that when he retires and we move we will foster dogs on a regular basis.........sigh

Inattention is probably what it amounts to Chico. Having confidence that the dog is getting along great in his new surroundings, something just as small as going to the washroom leaving the dogs unattended will give enough time to certain dogs to take off.....From what I understand he had been seen up until yesterday morning.....since then nothing....They have brought other dogs down with who he was close to to see if that will help lure him out......They are trying

I suspect it has to do with their history, too--these dogs are more used to roaming than many other fosters might be.

they can entice him back soon! Ella, too!

For sure Hazel it has to do with their history, that's where extra vigilance comes into place.

No, no...I was agreeing with you, not making excuses.

Is it possible Moe and Ella are going cross-country back to the cabin? How far away were they being fostered from where they were found?

Ella has been missing for a few weeks now and Moe since the 7th, it has now been two days since his last sighting, I doubt that they have hooked up, but then again weirder things have happened. Wouldn't that be something if they did find each other.....Apparently many folks in that area free feed their dogs outside and they think that Moe is having no problem finding food.

I'm not sure of the distance Hazel ...but it is bush, bush, bush in that area and not too populated.

Here is a photo of Moe

Last I heard Timmins has a population of 20,000 to 30,000 people. It is also the largest city in Ontario...area wise.

I sure hope they find those 2 dogs soon safe and sound.

MOE has been sighted in Timmins.....yay. He went missing from just outside of Timmins and has now been sighted in town, let's keep all fingers and toes crossed that he can be trapped.
