Angry Cat chewing

I have a 1-1/2 yr. old neutered female cat. She has a very bad habit of chewing wires. I have had to replace, phone, speaker etc. wires numerous times. I have tried spraying the wires with any smelly substance and even bought the most bitter tasting stuff especially for training animals to stop chewing. None of the above worked after 10 min. I have scolded her when I catch her, but most of the time I don't catch her. She has toys to play with and is never out of food. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it, short of letting her chew through a wire and get a shock.
Thank you
