Nice looking dog! To me he looks like he has some type of herding dog in him, like border collie or Australian shepherd. In the first pic he looks like he's doing that border collie stare.

To my untrained catowner eyes,he looks like a Berner/Retriever/Austrailian Sheperd X,he sure is beautiful though!

I think he might fit here. This is what we used to call a "farm dog". A dog of varying appearance, expected to guard the home, bring the cows in for milking, herd the sheep, chickens, pigs, whatever, get the mail, help fix fences, escort children home from the school bus and just generally be an incredibly smart and adaptive all purpose dog. My Grampa always had a dog of this type. |
