dog having seizures?
There have been 3 instances in the 1.5 years that we've had our hound dog Leo, where his head seems to shake uncontrollably for about 2-3 minutes. It almost looks like he has Parkinsons or something - its more like a wobble than a shake in the doggie sense... but he clearly can't control it when it happens and it seems to unnerve him a bit (although, it could just be my reaction to the wobbling that unnerves him). Then, after a few minutes, he's back to normal. He can walk and otherwise move around while this is happening and he doesn't make any noises during it. I've mentioned it to the vet, but it happens so infrequently and for such short periods that the vet has never seen it happen. Anyone have experience with this? Is he having small seizures?
Background: Leo is a Bluetick Coonhound, found stray in North Carolina in 2008, age is approximately 7 (but that's just the vet's best guess). Pics attached. Any input is appreciated. Thanks! |

Good to see pics of Leo again, LaurenBev.
One of our past members had a boxer with similar symptoms that she posted about. Here's a link to the thread: http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=28653 The thread is long, but there is a lot of information there, and I think she even posted some video. I hope you find something helpful there! If you do a site search on head tremors, there are some other threads that come up, too!
