Lifespan of a bone?
Been a while since I gave Cider anything.. She turned her nose up at riblettes even 'aged' and seared before Christmas. They had marrow bones on sale this week though so I threw them in the freezer.
I gave her one and she got down to business with it and then it uh disappeared. Turns out first time ever she hid it for later... Let me say she did clean it pretty good... but I find it gross and slimy at this point, but she was chowing on it for a while before I found it and her, so I'm not going to remove it now... Is this an unhealthy lifespan? Since it still has a tiny bit of marrow, and some outside goobyness (yes laugh but eww) should I take it away as long as I find it before it's hidden, or would you just not care?

hmm, well, I take all of Roscos bones after he has a go at them and either put them in the fridge or pop them in the freezer. I find this keeps them a bit fresher so to speak. Really, its all personal preference. I know people whos dogs will bury them outside and dig them up a week later for a chew.
Worrd of caution on the marrow bones. They can damage teeth so be cautious.

i only give boney things outside on the balcony so the uneaten ones can stay there for weeks... either the dogs will finally eat them, or the birds will, or i'll kick them off the balcony for the street cats to take them away
if it was in the house, after chewing the bones would be rinsed and stored in the fridge or freezer. noboby likes to step or sit on a green stinky bone

I leave the bones with the dogs too, they have some in the house and some outside.
As far as green bones never seen one of them Once the bones get down to a size that "I" am uncomfortable with they get burried or thrown away.

Yeah, I know they can cause teeth issues, She's not a power chewer, so we haven't had an issue, but I'm sure if we ever do I'll toss the weight baring bones.
That's really gross Techno... I realized today I've never thrown out a marrow bone... they all end up in the toy basket.. but till this one she's promptly cleaned them so well no smell, nothing left on them I could see... Seemed happier with this one aged
