Desperately seeking a PUG
Is there anyone out there who knows of a pug rescue organization in Ontario? I live in Almonte, just outside of Ottawa, and I am looking for a pug. Please let me know if you know of anyone or any organization would have pugs available. I would prefer to adopt than buy from a pet store, to give an animal a second chance at life.
Thank you for your help! |

Well buying from a pet store will almost assure you of a dog riddled with health problems, let alone the fact that you would be supporting BYB an Puppymills. Neither of these give a hoot about the dogs that are kept in cages that are way to small and no vet care, they are only concerned with getting your money. These dogs are kept in vile conditions. Then when your dog gets sick they will not return your call or that guarantee they gave you is not worth the paper it is written on. Keep searching on all the rescues and shelters, this is a really popular breed so be diligant. This is a link to a lot of rescues and shelter that might have your forever dog. Good luck

Pug lover here as well...
Hi!
I love puggies too. I can't wait for the day that one comes into my life. However, why not use the room in your heart to save another kind of dog that isn't in such high demand? I've filled out applications at so many pug rescues and have sadly heard nothing. Not because I'm a bad match, but because pug rescues have the luxury to select the PERFECT match for a pug. Please don't buy any dog from a pet store! When I get a pug, if it's not through rescue, it will be through a very ethical breeder that I have thoroughly researched. And it will be at a time when I have the bucks to pay for it in one shot (sometimes 1300 +). For now, I can make a great home to a rescue dog who will love me forever. I'm looking now to find that sweet rescue baby. And eventually, he/she will have a puggie friend. Basically, I'm asking you to consider ANYTHING but getting a dog from a pet store... this should not even be an option. Good luck in your search!

Hi Elyse
Yes there is such a place in Ontario the Pugalug Club they resue and look for homes for pugs who need them.:-) Here is a link to contact a man named Larry who I think is in charge http://www.pugalug.com/pugalugforums...iewprofile&u=4 We have a 1 year old, brindle, male pug named Lord Pugsley of Simcoe that we aquired through people we know who raise pugs but found the Pugalug club last fall when they opened a chapter here in Simcoe, Ontario. The pugalug club does lots of fun things for pugs and their owners, we attended a holloween party in oct with Puglsey, dress up in a Yoda Star Wars Costume..(imagine how much a pug looks like yoda..lol) and we took him to the party as PUGODA...he was featured in the local paper, both front page and inside with Dad..lol... We met some really adorable pugs and their counterparts and it seems like a wonderful organization that we have just been introduced to. Good luck in your search to adopt a needy pug..:-) Hubby and I agree, there are cats, dogs and pugs....lol...they need their own classification.... Take care lovenpugs |
