Unhappy My dog can no longer stand up

I have a 15 year old irish wolfhound/shepherd mix. She is in great health and 99.9% of the time acts like a puppy. The other day when I was going to put her in the backyard she wouldn't get up-she tried to stand and her back legs wobbled- she managed to walk but then just collappsed on the floor and started to breath heavy. She won't drink water or eat and is just laying down. She will try to sit up but just winds up falling down again. I am very worried- this happened once years ago- but only lasted a few hours- it has been 2 days!! Any ideas??? She is a house dog and only goes out to the back yard-no where else-eats and drinks regularly- takes a vitamin every day and has checkup 2-3 times a year.

Your dog needs to see a vet ASAP...

It could be anything from her hips giving out,to something with her spine.

Please take her in.

15 years old?? I fear that her time has come. You must take her to the vet and if nothing can be done, let her go humanely and dont' let her suffer.

Thumbs down JEEEeeeezzzzzz

You have a 15 year old Wolfhound mix and have kept a 2-3 time a year vet schedule and have let it lay on the floor for 2 days - unable to get up.
You better revise that schedule and get that dog to a vet within minutes.
He's given you 15 years -take a few minutes to find out what is wrong.
PLEASE
