Walle is ready for winter

Walle is ready for winter. You will notice that those are not boots on his feet, but simple rubber balloons with the tops cut. We found this was easier to put on than boots and a lot less expensive. If you lose a boot you usually have to replace it by buying a new set of boots. If you lose a rubber balloon, big deal you just replace the one you lost. Try it and see. It works for us.

awwwww Gary Wallie looks adorable and nice and warm!! I think that is a good idea about the balloons! Mindy paws are so hairy now she doesn't mind the snow...in fact she has started to play in it! I love wallie's coat too!!

What a really clever idea, garyb. I love the way the balloons match his dog coat too. I can see myself copying this next Winter for my shelties. I'll have to buy a lot of balloons I think. Now, what colour would suit a gold sable sheltie ?? LOL.

Very cute pic. Just curious though about the balloons. How do you keep them on? I'm hoping you don't use elastics. The balloons are a very good idea though.

Like "Paws" boots balloons should just kind of stick to the fur and hold themselves in place. I use Paws on Leo over fleece boots to keep out the cold and wet on longer walks... waiting for nice weather again. Slush is so annoying especially for doggies 8 inches off the ground!

Clever solution to a wintry problem

Be very careful of the balloons, though--dogs have been known to strangle or get blockages from eating balloons. So make sure you have them all accounted for at all times!
