My cats keep coughing

I am too but I think it's just allergies

We all keep coughing! My mom keeps yelling at us to stop coughing and she feels fine but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what the heck is going on? We have the air on and it's making it kinda dry in here, but would that affect the cats? Everyone is healthy and the URI the kittens had is 100% cleared up. All my adult cats as well as the kittens keep coughing dry coughs. No one is sneezing... no other symptoms either though.

Is it normal for cats to cough if it's dry in the house? The coughs are terrible like HACCCKKKKErrrrrrrrrp and it sounds like they could hack up a hairball but nothing comes out.

Would this be a sign of something in my house making us all sick? My mom was no help when I asked her about this.

Just curious. I think it's kind of odd I never have seen cats coughing like a human before.

I believe they may be. I've been finding it empty more then usual. I've been drinking 2x as much water as well.

If there's something in the air that's bothering us both, what would it be? I clean my house very often and I try not to spray air fresheners or anything.

Can dry air affect cats like it could affect me?

I think the dry air might be adding to/causing the coughing. I know it does with me.

If you have some hairball formula you might want to give a little of that, just to be sure that isn't the cause.

Giving alittle bit of L-Lysine won't hurt to be sure the URI isn't still hanging on.

Watch for other symptoms, if they get worse or the coughing continues through the next couple of days I'd take them in for a check up.
