Worried about beagles
Last month, we rescued a 1 1/2 year old female beagle from a shelter, only to lose her two days later to parvovirus: as a rescue, no one knew anything about her history, and apparently she had never been vaccinated against anything.
Since then, we've become very hypersensitive about the health of our other beagle, Barney. He had all of his shots and we believe we took all the necessary precautions to sanitize the environment. So far, he has had no symptoms. Just yesterday (Saturday) we adopted another female beagle, Sasha. She is also a rescue. We have noticed that both Barney and Sasha are not behaving normally. Both seem lethargic. Sasha's stools are loose and slimey with mucus. Barney appears normal, but he feels very warm and his nose is drier than usual. What should we do? |
