I find it sad just how easily animal abusers get off sometimes. I saw an article where a guy threw a Doberman puppy out of a moving truck, and got off with little more than a fine. Its disgusting. If you dont want your animal, fine, but dont abuse it. There are plenty of people that would love to take it.
This woman is particularly sick because A) it wasnt her cat, and B) she was petting the freaking thing! How do you go from petting a cat to throwing it in a dumpster? I think that just because theyre animals doesnt mean the punishment should be significantly less severe. Slightly less severe, perhaps- its still not the same as torturing a human... But a fine? Probation? F that- in blatant cases of abuse like this, there should be a mandatory jail sentence, followed by six months of therapy... because if youre torturing animals, you DEFINITELY need therapy. |
