Thank's everyone,at the moment I am quiet proud of it all and of hubby, who loves to be out there fiddling in the garden,in the summer we are usually outside most of the day.
14+your gardens are wonderful, unfortunately we do not have the space you have, hubby would be happy to oblige,he's turning in to a great gardener.

Kwilli,I am glad you mentioned my Sun,I love it there on the wall, gives it a Mediteranean(sp?)feel.

Oh wow so pretty!

When I lived in Toronto I didn't have any interest in gardening in what? zone 5? So where do I get interested in gardening? yep up here in zone 2. Can't say I don't like a challange. I so would love to garden in your zone Chico! You can grow such lovely plants!

Thank's TQ,I would not want to live in Torontowhenever I have to go there,I am always soooo relieved to come back home.
Oakville still has the small-town feel, unless you go north where the concrete jungle of new homes keep popping up like mushrooms.

chico,

I have been noticing a LOT of mentions of a particular type of rose this year, and I think it would look AMAZING in your collection.

Rosa Mundi is a very old rose, with it's first known mention in print in the 1500s! They say it's not very far from a natural species rose. And it seems to be very popular in the UK lately, with it being I think the 500 year anniversary of Henry VIII's coronation.

Do a google image search on it. I think you'll fall in love. It' has strawberry and cream swirled colored petals.

I'm not even sure they are available for sale in Canada. But still, what an amazing rose. I am not much of a fan of roses altogether, but would love to have that old variety.

I had an uncle and aunt living in Oakville. They were sort of out in the country at the beginning but houses popped up all around them.Last time I was in Oakville I didn't even recognized the area. Guess I'm just getting old.

TQ,here where I live,it's an older area, our little house was built 1959,when people still wanted a fair sized backyard, the area has tons of mature trees.
The tree-lined streets are what made us love Oakville and the lake only a 20 minute(or less) walk from here.

Ceara, most of my Roses were here when we bought the house about 30yrs ago, some died and have been replaced,my pink Rose,we dug up and brought with us from a town-house we used to live in.

2 years ago we bought a white Kennedy Rose,it was dead this year:sad:
I really do not have room for another Rose, but I'll look at the Rosa Mundi.
I have no idea what my Roses are,not surprising,eh

Don't feel bad, I don't know squat about roses. Never liked the thorns and all the ones we ever had growing up never lasted long. Either they flowered only once or got disease. But now they have so many Floribunda type that bloom non stop with lots more disease resistance.

What I really want is one that makes the hips. Lots of uses for rose hips.

Can't resist attaching a pic of the Mundi. So pretty!

It's is very pretty Ceara, don't think I've ever seen one.
The worst problem with Roses is Fungus, but the cooler summer this year, seems to keep it away
I have one wild Rose in the back that gets the Hips, but I always dead-head the flowers,so I don't get any.
