black lab vomited 5 times this morning

Not sure if anyone can help, but thought I would post this.
I have a year old black lab, who has vomited 5 times this morning.
2 of his vomits have been food, the other 3 times, just bial has come up. I don't think he has been into anything that would cause this, but you never know.
He is also flatuating., so his tummy is definately upset.

Thanks anyone for help
Alice

How is he acting now? Is he still acting like normal for him? Is he eating or trying to eat? Is he drinking water? Is his abdomen tender or swollen? Is he having bowel movements as normal, and urinating as normal?

If he seems to have no more symptoms, then perhaps you don't need to worry too much, he could have eaten too fast. If he isn't acting normal, and/or isn't showing interest in his usual activities, then perhaps a call to the vet is in order.

dog vomiting

24 hours is the rule of thumb on vomiting. There is an article on this site that mey help.

http://www.pets.ca/articles/article-vomit.htm

He vomited bile after he vomited all the solid stuff. Good chance it will pass by tomorrow, but if not, maybe vet time.

Five times is a lot for a dog to vomit if he's just got an upset stomach.

But the sign that he's flatulating is actually good, because with Bloat, which is a life threatening condition, there is no exit of gas, but there is a lot of vomiting.

Keep a close eye on him, if there is more vomiting and his abdomen appears swollen and there is no more flatulance, then take him to an emerg clinic immediatly.

It could also be as simple as a food allergy.

Good luck,
Pachiz

update

he was fine for the rest of the day yesterday, but this morning he vomited again. He drinks his water but most of the day has been curled up in a ball and is not his usual self. His abdomen seems fine, not swollen or anything

Hi Wacky

as I just posted, he was fine for the rest of the day, drank water, went pee no problem. hasn't eaten anything, so no poo yet. But he's definately not himself, and again was sick this morning. but nothing since, and has been drinking his water

You should still take him to the vet, the sooner the better. He'll thank you later.
