Another Food Question

Hi Everyone, I have been feeding Sophie Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul since we brought her home. She is now 16 weeks and does not seem to like it, Is this normal for a puppy not to like her food? I know my cats are picky but didn't know dogs were too.
Do you think I should change her food to something different?
Thanks for your help

Meatloaf gets tired of his fast he would like it if I bought 5 differant kinds and give him a differant one everyday. He starts out for the first three days he is crazy about it than slows down so I went out and bought something new and than he is crazy about it so now we switch everyonce in awhile. I mean I feed him some of one and than some of the other. He seems to like that. He is so funny. He got use to when he was sick me trying everything that was good for him so he ate everything (chicken, rice, mashed pot, yog, ped, etc) and now he is rotten, but that is okay he deserves it!

When you made meatloafs food how did you do it? I would like to make all Sophies food but am not sure the best way to do it, How to cook it etc. How much do you give them etc. Everyone is always saying how bad human food is for them but I am hearing different now. I want to feed her the best way possible. Thanks

From personal experience, I would say that dogs can be just as picky as cats. Diamond used to like her (for treats only) canned dog food cold. Now she'll only eat it room temperature. She also liked a spoon of the canned mixed in with her dry (add a little water and you got wonderful gravy!), not any more. Dry or nothing. She also has a preference over the flavor of the food. She perfers the Whitefish and Potatoe to the Lamb and Rice.

So I'd say...Yup...dogs can be just as fussy.

When I started making Meat Loaf's food was when he got Parvo.

1. I would buy a pack of boneless skinless chicken breast and cut it in little cubes and than boil it. Than put it in a boil and it is always ready when you need it. Just cut it up smaller and there you go.

2. Than his cottage cheese I would buy a whole things of it dump it in a bowl and than poor like 1 or 2 cups of ped. in it and mix it up. Not only is the ped. good for them but it makes it a little water and that gets on the other food and makes it better.

3. Than I would take the rice and boil alot of it and put it in a bowl so it is always ready (no salt, etc. in it) just natural.

4. Than I would also make mashed pot. (no slat pepper, etc.) and put them in a bowl so you have them.

Than to eat I would give him a little chicken and rice and than either pot. or cottage cheese. Than if you wanted to give them a snack later on I gave them plain yog. OH I almost forgot take the broth of the chicken and make him ice cubes not only do they like to play with them and lick them but they are good for them. Meat Loaf loved them. I still do that for him. Do not give hamburger to your dog.

5. Than I would take veggies and beef cubes and make a stew and he loved that (try to make it natural do not add all the extras)

6. He loves the cresecent rolls.
I will let you read all that and I will post more on another post.

Salmon and turkey are good for your baby. I also make pasto (the rotinni) spelling and he loves that. I will put a little shredded cheese in it and mix it up. Meat Loaf likes watermelon. just cut him off a few piece he goes crazy. He loves green beans and peas, he hates peas, carrots.

OH BY THE WAY when you are feeding them differnat meats only feed him one meat at a time (day or meal) I mean do not mix. If you do turkey than only turkey that day. Oh I have found that Meat Loaf like the ped. pop cycles. Try not to give them things that are real gressy even if you drain the grease it is bad for their belly. And for the most part no sugar. Meat Loaf loves lemon falvored cookies so he might get one a week but not that often. I hope this helps

Pedialyte I am sorry about that. I am not sure if it is spelled right or not. I started giving it to him because he had the poops because of Parvo and that is what the vet said to do. They give it to children when they are ill so they do not dehydrate. It has so many things in it that is good for the puppy (electrolytes and things like that) I still am giving it to Meat Loaf. I put the plain (white) kind in his cottage cheese and than he love to drink the fruit kind (orange) and I make it in ice cubes (that is what I do for the most part now just the ice cubes (fruit kind) and he loves them. How old is your puppy (is he teething)?

Meat Loaf is still teething the ice cubes did wonders. Wait till you start to see little teeth laying around! He lost his two front teeth first and than the bottom to and they were gone for a few days we took picture and sent them to our family and they said you might me a red neck of your baby has more teeth than your dog. And I hid behind the dog and put a blanket over me and made him smile and showed he had not teeth it was so cute. Looked like he had been smiling the whole time. HEHEHEHHEHEHE
