broken leg or snake bite?

My dogs leg is swollen and her urine is bloody. Could she have been bitten?
I'm new to this posting stuff so bear with me! Yesterday we went for a run and at the end she was limping and in pain. By late last night there was some swelling. This morning the swelling is worse and there is blood in her urine. There are no vets open in my town. I would love to hear anything I can do to help her.

The only way to know is to take her to a vet, she is probably in a lot of pain right now. Swelling means she has an injury, but we would have no idea of how serious it is.

Blood in the urine is an indication of infection or blockage, both of which require immediate vet care.

Good luck and keep us posted.

If there is even a chance that your dog has been bitten by a snake, you need to be calling around to find an e-vet. This can be life-threatening, barv2, and the longer you wait, the more damage is being done.

Regardless, even if the leg is broken as opposed to being bit, blood in the urine would probably mean some pretty major trauma in whatever incident resulted in the broken leg.

Please call around for a vet that has emergency services--even if you have to search a wider area and drive a while to get there. Your dog can't afford to wait.

Good luck, and please keep us posted!
