I have a question regarding who can view the blog entries.

Hi all,

I was just wondering that if a blog was started, whether the original poster has any control over who can or can not access and view the blog?

I understand that Admins and Mods can view and post regardless and I have no problems with that. My concern is only access for other members, is there a way for me to make it an invite only blog?

Thanks
Scuba

Anyone who is not a member of the forum is not allowed access to the blogs, Admin & moderators can see all blogs.

If you go to blogs, post to your blog, then on the left side click on blog options, at the bottom under permissions and privacy there are options to allow or not: members on your contact list (disabled function), members on your ignore list, everyone else. You can also allow or not members to post comments.

I'm assuming (and you know what that means ) that if you uncheck 'contact list', 'ignore list' and 'everyone else' that the blog is completely private except for admin & mods. Of course you could pm Marko to ask, or try it posting something not important, a "test" if you will, uncheck all the boxes & I'll tell you if I can see it

Thanks Growler!
You are correct members can choose to keep their blog 100% private from members and guests. In fact I believe private is the default setting of the blogs.

Thx

Hey Marko

Scuba was also wondering about making it a view by invitation only blog, is that possible without the contact list?
