I would wait until you meet your kitten. We had named ours before we met them. After a few weeks, we realized that names were mismatched.

I agree, I like having a list of names you like, then finding out the personality of the cat & which name suits it better. So pick a few you like then decide

How about:

Smokey
Striker
Aiden
Lou
Milo
Toby
Leon

Silverwind - I like Ripley that's cute

Those are all great.
And good idea to make a list , then decide after we have gotten to know each other !
Altho "Ripley" is pretty cute.

We are going straight from the adoption home to the VET so I thought I ought to have a name to put on the paperwork....

Guess he will come home as simply " baby " to start .

He's a handsome little guy, that's for sure. I like Toby. A couple of names I almost used are Oscar and Boris

bobcat descendent ???

Well, Ripley is home and happy with us and my kids have noticed he has those cool pointy tufts of hair at the tips of his ears like a bobcat !

They want to change his name to Bobby !

He is a long hair tabby but what else is he mixed with , with such distinct ears ?

dag nabbit I can't get my pix to resize properly to show you guys the ears. !!

Any ideas ? Or is that just distinctive of a tabby ?

There are several different cat breeds with tufty ears, some medium or long haired cats of no particular breed (domestic medium/long haired) may have ear tufts, plus any cat with a type of colouring called Lynx point or Lynx tipping may have ear tufts.

In Ripleys' case it may be because he has long hair, he could also have Lynx tipping/points colouration, does not mean it is a descentant from a wild cat

Quote:
LYNX POINTS: body color appropriate to marking and ground color. Mask must be clearly lined with dark stripes vertical on forehead with classic “M” on forehead, horizontal on cheeks and dark spots on whisker pads clearly outlined in dark color edges. Inner ear light with thumbprint on outer ear. Markings dense, clearly defined and broad. Legs evenly barred with bracelets. Tail barred. No striping or mottling on body, but consideration given to shading in older cats.

Red face

I like Lynx, and just the name 'Bobcat' kind of suits him too.

I still like Ripley though!
