No, but I found this in a vet directory thingie I keep handy:
http://www.vetinfo.com/cvoice.html Have you asked your vet? That would be the first place to start.

Some cats just have puny little meows too. My Shadoe is the biggest and toughest of all our cats, but when he meows you can't help but laugh at him.
If you don't mind me asking, how did your cat get FIV? |

Cat cannot meow
Thanks for your replyl. My cat's name is Lucky - he was roaming around by my mother's house. My sister saw him, he was very sickly looking. She took him to vet and was going to keep him. She had 1 cat and 2 dog. He was tested for feline leukemia but was clear of that and has FIV instead. So, she asked me to take him. I already had 2 dogs and just lost my boy dog to cancer a few months previous. I put her off for a few months and they kept him secluded so as not to let him with the other cats. Labor day 2001 I gave in and took Lucky - he was about 8 lbs. and now is about 14 lbs. He is just wonderful and one of the love of our lives. I call him my dog cat because he is so tough. We have him and my 2 dogs, one almost 15 and blind, diabetic, incontinent and has cushings. The other is 11 and just found out she has Pannus, another serious eye infection that must be medicated the rest of her live or she can go blind in that eye. Lucky is always congested, part of FIV, and just does not meow like normal, kind of croaks like a frog when he is mad or wants to say something. Thanks for responding. - Barbara

I had a cat for 11 years who was never able to meow - he was silent except for the ocassional "Mrp". A blessing really.
When my other cats screamed for food, he would race over and stand behind them, so they were his "spokescats"! If you cat has never meowed, chances are he is just like that. Thanks for taking him in - sounds like you are doing a great job with him. |
