What kind of stickies? Do you mean resin and sap? Our dogs get pine tar on their pads and in their fur all the time. If I can, I snip it off. If it's adhered to the pads, of course, that won't work--but a little vegetable oil can soften it enough for you go scrape it off

Not sure how to keep it out of the house if there's lots of it. I always try to get it off them before they come in... It can take the better part of an hour some days if they've been under the pines treeing squirrels

When I was a kid my family had a kerry blue terrier that always got those stuck to her feet. In the yard behind ours there was a row of huge poplars so those sticky things fell all over our yard. I can't remember us doing much about them other than keeping her the fur on her feet trimmed short and pulling them off before she came into the house. Besides oil, something else that can help to get the sticky residue off is mayonaisse. I've used it for removing sap etc. from something/someone instead of something harsh like paint thinner. If I get sap on myself I tend to just use the paint thinner and then wash well with soap, but not for kids and pets.

I'd use a digestible oil, like vegetable oil, rather than a mineral oil, like baby oil. That way if they ingest any of it while you're working on their sticky patches, it won't make them ill
