I have a brand new set of bagpipes that can be auctioned off
(Just look for the getting along with the opposite sex thread if you haven't read it yet...)

Anyway, I wish I could attend these. If you would like, I could send you a case of assorted cookies and crackers if you wanted to put it in a basket and auction it off. I do it with my stores every year for the Childrens Miracle Network and people usually like it. I think if I made the basket here and sent it up, it might get a little expensive with shipping, but I would be more than happy to send the product to fill a basket. Please let me know if I can help. Also, if there is a Toronto fundraiser as well, the same offer goes too!!!

(If you didn't know I work for a major worldwide cookie company -- I'll give you a hint without saying the name because I think I could get in trouble, but it has to do with little people in a hollow tree!)

Little people in a tree.....that's crazy.

Sudbury is a long way from here and cold. Any plans for anything closer to TO?

I'm in North Bay and would've attended this event, however, I will be driving back from a dog show in Ottawa that day.

I've let all my Sudbury friends and family know about the event. I'm hoping they attend.

Hi Jesse's Mom, if you could send anything it would be greatly appreciated! I'm not too sure about the bagpipes though -- I would like to have some, but I don't think my wife is with me on that one....

you can email me at chalkitupfork9s@hotmail.com and I will send you my address for shipping.

Keep an eye out in the mail. I mailed a box of goodies for the auction today!!! I was going to try to put some shrink wrap and a bow in there for the basket, but couldn't fit it in because I jammed the box so full of stuff! I put about $50 worth of product there. Good luck with the fundraiser and let us know how it goes!!!

Anytime. As I've said before, I own a pit too, so anything I can do to help out, I'm willing to give it my best!! We are all in this together! These things really do spread like wildfires and the more we do to educate ignorance, the closer we are to living peacefully with our pets -- no matter what breed they are!

:thumbs up

I went to the fundraiser on Sunday. It was a lot of fun. Jeff said they raised either almost or over $3000 for the legal fund. This was a huge success with money coming in from cash donations and a really good silent auction. I got a new pink leash and a stainless steel bowl for the girls.

I must apologize for not posting an update sooner....I've been exhausted this week, between work and recovering from the fundraiser...

We had about 50 people show up for the event -- some came as far as Kitchener, Burford, and Owen Sound!!

Rhythmn & Cues put on an excellent buffet lunch. Great selection and as always, great food. If anyone is passing through Sudbury, you should check this place out. Even if you don't play pool, they do have an excellent menu...

Anyway, as was mentioned above, we were able to raise just over $3500 for the DLCC legal fund. The total revenues were over $4700 (less the cost of advertising/pool/lunch/etc to arrive at $3500) for the day. That means, on average, all of our attendees donated close to $100 that day!!

I would like to thank everyone who attended that day and showed their generosity! I would also like to thank everyone who supported the event through donations, both cash and items to be auctioned. We received items from BC, Calgary, Maryland, Oklahoma, and all over Ontario. One donation that I found very special and touching came from a Katrina survivor in New Orleans -- can you imagine -- your life is turned upside down and you still find it in you to donate!!

Again, I thank all of our supporters!!!
