Police investigate suspicious dog death

Toronto police are investigating after another dog died suddenly following a walk in the city's east end.

The dog got sick after a walk with its owner in the area of Bowmore Road Public School and died Friday night. The results of toxicology tests are not yet available.

Police are treating the death as suspicious because three previously healthy dogs died last month after eating something in the nearby Leslieville neighbourhood.

It was not clear whether someone had deliberately poisoned the dogs, but a local animal hospital was warning dog owners to be vigilant.

Officers searched the Bowmore Road school area, but did not come across anything suspicious.
