Question Experience with kitten with a frostbitten paw?

I kitten came to us on tuesday evening (about 6 months old). The woman who found him said she pulled him out of the snow-bank, and poor guy had one from paw swollen to twice the normal size.

The other vet tech took him to the vet on wednesday morning, and our vet said that is is a good chance that it is frostbite, He has suggested hydrotherapy (warm) for a few days to see if his paw gets any better and will see him again at the beginning of next week.

Has anyone encountered this type of problem? How did your cat come through this ordeal?

Snowball had a frostbitten ear when he was a kitten , he ran out of the house when it was -20 outside and I couldn't catch him . It did take a while to heal but turned out OK.
