jillborbas,I can so understand how you feel being unable to get Tippi well, then not being able to get to a specialist+plus all the money this is costing you.
Not that I begrudge Tippi the money spent on her,but I wish you could at least get a proper diagnosis, both you and poor Tippi.
When I pill my cat,I mash it up in a teaspoon of food and he eats it,maybe you could do the same in something she really likes
She must be really stressed out with meds etc..and I am sure you are too:sad:
Hoping for the best for you and Tippi

What's the painkiller that she's on?

Are there other meats she will try, like chicken or lamb or beef? What about plain meat baby food? Does she have any favourite treats you can tempt her with? When my cat has been inappetant in the past, sometimes the only thing he'd eat was Wysong cat treats and yogurt.

If you can get to a pet food store (a higher end one, not the big-box stores), ask for a sample bag of Innova EVO dry food. Most cats go ga-ga for it, and it's very calorie dense.

Are you anywhere near a teaching vetrinary hospital, Jill? Good specialists there, lots of resources, and they (at least in WI and MN) always have emergency hours available with little notice.

I think there may be one in PA, maybe even in Jersey. I'll look into it!

There's a store-locator on their website that might help: http://www.naturapet.com/where-to-buy/

My cat also got poisoned

My kitty Julie ingested a tylenol by accident (I have a health problem and I have to take tylenol everyday), and I noticed only after 48 hours she ingested that something was wrong with her. She's been in the hospital since Dec. 31, and I am trying desesperately to keep my calm but it's heart breaking every time I go visit her. She's in the oxygen chamber, taking fluids through IV, and her face is all swollen. I don't know what to do next, the doctors keep telling me to wait for at least 72 hours and that she's stable, but I don't see physical signs of improvement. Does anybody know if it really takes that long for recovery? Please someone who's been through the same or know about this help me!!! My kitty is only 4 months old... Please someone reply!!!

Hi Alice
I am so sorry about your poor kitten.
There are many wise people here who can help answer your questions.
It would be best if you start your own thread on this forum (cat health).
Many more people will see it and you will get the help you need.
Laurie
