"senior" member
How about giving designations to ppl that they earn. Some ppl (incl me) find the word "senior" member to imply knowledge and wisdom. And while most senior members fully embody that, there are a few who don't. How about a designation specifically for the highly respected members, so newbies don't confuse "Senior" with allknowing. Members who are extreamly helpful/knowledgeable etc... can be nominated (by other members in good standing)for the "senior" or "respected" member designation. Everyone else is just "jr member" or "member".

I have to say I disagree with that and not just because I am a socalled Junior member. The Board will end up with all manner of politics. You end up with a place that rivals Junior High and to paraphrase the wife of Jay Leno, I will happy for the rest of my life knowing I never have to attend Junior High School ever again. <g>

ummm...
I agree with Cyberkitten. That could just get really political. And who's to decide!?! I can agree that some people don't have the best sense or ideas..but thats my opinion...otherwise they'd have to be some kind of screening process...umm...could get REALLY messy....

It is worth some thought, I am designated a senior member, but only because of the length of time and number of posts I have added. Haven't done a lot of "helping" anyone.
Not sure how anyone would go about changing those designations, maybe one for length of membership and another designation that would look at "Thankyou's" or some sort of rating system to those that help so wonderfully. Just chiming in.... ~~dmc |
