Lost Great Dane / Toronto Area.. bad owner HELP/let dogs starve

Hoping you guys can keep your eyes open for this female great dane. Her breeder is trying desperately to find her after her owner abandoned and starved other dogs she owned, but the great dane wasn't with them. Here is the plea from her breeder.

Please spread the word and help me find Athena. Athena is a blue female Great Dane. She was born 9-21-07. I live in Florida
and I sold her to a girl named Kari Alblas in Toronto, Ontario-Canada. Kari is a German Shepard breeder who was getting
into Great Danes. She had a black female Dane named Cinderella. Kari told me that she couldn't keep Athena a few months ago and
asked me if she could place her. I told her per our contract that I wanted her back and that I would pay for her travel
arrangements back to Florida from Canada. We went over details over a several week period of time and I had even asked a friend
in Chicago to possibly help with the flight and layover if needed. At the last minute, Kari tells me that she loves Athena
too much and cannot part with her. She tells me that she will not place her, she will just keep her and possibly spay her,
as she said she had allergies. Despite asking for pictures of Athena during a three year period, I never got even one photo. The only
photos I have of her are when she was with me as a puppy. Kari's German Shepards were found starving to death recently in crates, abandoned.
I have been told she has been banned from the Canadian Kennel Club and is facing criminal animal neglect charges.I was told my dog Athena
was not found amongst the starving dogs. I emailed Kari and asked where Athena was. I got a reply from somebody claiming
to be her cousin "Jessica", stating that she is helping Kari out, because Kari has been admitted to a mental hospital.
Part of me doesn't believe this, but I do think it takes somebody who is mentally ill to starve and abandon dogs, with
the intention of them suffering and dying. Cinderella supposedly died of bloat a few months ago, around the same time she
was telling me she couldn't keep her dogs. I don't know if Athena is dead or alive, because nobody can find her and there is
no evidence of where she went. She has told several people she placed Athena, but refused to give up the contact info of
her new found family. The German Shepherds are in good care and being medically treated and loved by very wonderful and caring
people. I have also had the German Shepherd as well as the Great Dane Community from Canada and the US, generously reach out
to me, donating time and offering to help and examine any clues. If you know of anybody probably in the Toronto area who acquired
a blue female cropped dane recently or any information leading to Athena no matter what the outcome; please contact me

There is a FB group organized to help the 2 GSs rescued - Cajun and Dealer that were found starving. I believe they were rescued January 6th, 2010.

The only picture that Cindy has of Athena is when she was a small puppy. Unfortunately, this person Kari deleted her 'Dane' and 'GS' websites before people had a chance to pull updated photos of Athena from there.

There is deep concern for Kari's other GD - Cinderella had supposedly bloated months ago(per Cindy's message) and as there is question as to whether this is now true(was she also abandoned and starved) and if that was months ago, who is to know how long Athena has really been MIA.

The more this is crossposted, hopefully; someone will know something to help Cindy find Athena. AND may she be found safe.

Yes, and as I posted above, that is a puppy picture, the only pictures that Cindy has are puppy ones of Athena. Athena was born in 2007. She would now be almost 2.5 years of age. If there were current pictures of her; they can often help in searching.

UPDATE JUST SENT OUT BY CINDY OF DELLA GREAT DANES:

POSSIBLE LEAD ON ATHENA...PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST.... A PERSON TRYING TO HELP ME GOT THE FOLLOWING EMAIL FROM A FRIEND OF HERS WHO IS A GSD BREEDER...THE DANE MENTIONED IN THE EMAIL IS MOST LIKELY ATHENA....AND I HAVE EMAILED KARI'S MOTHER ALREADY....I ALSO KNOW THAT SHE DID NOT REGISTER ATHENA WITH THE CKC WITH THE NAME SHE TOLD ME SHE WAS GOING TO USE (SHE IS EITHER NOT REG AT ALL, OR SHE USED A TOTALLY DIFFERENT NAME)

Kari visited our kennel about 2 wks ago, prior to this happening with the two shepherds that were found. She bought a 16 month old male shepherd along with a friend. She was to pick him up over the weekend. Obviously that is not happening now...We have known Kari for years, she is well known in the Shepherd community. She told us 2 weeeks ago that all she had was a female great dane that had missing teeth and was going to be going back to the breeder. She did not mention the two male Shepherds that were found abandoned. She told us she was living in Woodstock with her friend that visited with her. I don't know whereabouts in Woodstock they live. The best thing to do is to contact Kari's mother, Annette, if you do a search for Appleridge German Shepherds you will find Annettte's phone number. She will have the contact information for where Kari was living, and will be able to tell this breeder where the Dane is.
