Pet Fair query

Can anyone go to the pet fair with an animal for adoption or is it just for recognized groups?

It's only for groups and only those who are invited. Guess who is NOT invited? The Montreal SPCA!

Yes. A lot. And on this day, how would look for them to be there, adopting out intact animals to anyone who has the money?

Special situation

My neighbour is moving on July 1 and must place a 5-year old female INTACT cat due to his new living arrangements (I know, I know). When he breathed the words SPCA to me, I was galvanized to act. He is prepared to pay for her to be spayed (she is a totally indoor cat) but obviously this cannot be done ahead of the fair. She is a precious animal, beautiful to look at and very loving. No health problems. Is there ANY chance you could accommodate her?

Badger if you can keep this cat, all I can do is offer to put her on my site. It's possible you may be able to bring her to one of our adoption clinics.

For the upcoming pet fair, I believe we have no more room, but I'll ask and get back to you. She must be spayed if she comes - can't have a cat in heat there.

And get the spay money from this deadbeat ASAP.

When I got Mackenzy from the Ottawa H.S. he was intact, he was too young to be neutered, so I got this certificate for a free neutering. I got it done, but I guess some people could not have it done (although it's already paid for). But if you adopt an older pet, they are ALWAYS fixed. Does that mean the H.S. is wrong, or is it simply because there is nothing else they can do? They also microchip your pet for free (well no extra I mean).

Lucky, the cat in question is Leeloo, the other Mojo is gone. She's descibed by Badger in the "Montreal LeeLoo and Mojo need a home".
I believe Badger is concerned about the cat ending up at SPCA,this idiot who is moving and will not take his/her cats is Badgers neighbor.

Thanks for straightening that out, Chico. So many cats flying around here, I'm getting dizzy!

She is beautiful, but right now we have two purebred Himis and two purebred Siamese listed, and they have not yet gotten homes.

Lucky,I thought the pet-fair was last weekend(old age )anyway, good luck!
Leeloo is very pretty, the moron owner cruelly split up two life-long buddies,
I am hoping Badger can take her for a while,so she does not end up on deathrow at the Montreal SPCA.
Hopefully many of your cats will find new homes and maybe there will be a chance for LeeLoo

Thanks Chico. I hope so too, as we now have 4 6-week old kittens found on the side of the T-Can.

Aren't people just great???

Lucky, if you're on the west side of Montreal next time you have an adoption fair, you can contact me if you need any help. I would love to go over there and help you if you need it. I can't go this weekend because my dad will be over and I haven't seen him in 3 months, but next time, I would go for sure! Let me know if you're interested!

Wow! That's such a nice offer Mako!! We don't usually need help at our adoption clinics (although sometimes we do!) because we generally only have 5 cages.

But there are days when some people cannot show up and we do need help setting up the tent, cages etc.

If we need an extra hand, I'll let you know!!

Thanks again! So few people offer to help in any way.

Leeloo has a home!

Good news, Leeloo has a home with friends, who will share in the cost of spaying - she's going for her vaccinations tomorrow.

Good job Badger!! Thank you for caring and for helping the kitties who are unfortunate enough to be owned by irresponsible idiots!
