Li'l critters ready for Pugfest
By Chris Gerritsen, Calgary Sun _To say Calgarian Allan Fine is a fan of pug dogs would be an understatement. His pugs, Sunshine and Star, are his everything. Fine's adoration for the little snub-nosed pooches has prompted him and other pug lovers to start organizing the first ever Calgary Pugfest 2003. "The event is free and we'll have prizes, games and, hopefully, people will dress their pugs up in costumes," says Fine, owner of Sun Care Day Spa on 17 Ave. Fine says Pugfest 2003 will be held August 10 at an off-leash park at 425 1 St. N.E. and adds the goal is to get 100 pugs in one place at one time. Fine and pug crew are also on the lookout for pug owners to come forward and more sponsors for the event. If you're interested you can call Fine at "I love pugs. I've had pugs for years. I think they're the coolest dogs around," says Fine. "We want to give them the attention and spotlight they deserve. They're just incredible dogs." Calgary Sun
