Sick Dog

We have a 12 year old dog who all of the sudden has stopped eating. She did drink water today and then threw it up. She has the shakes and now is non-active. She used to be very active as of 2 days ago. Can anyone please tell us what is going on? We know that she is old and that maybe the problem but if there is something we can do please Help!

I have no idea what is going on. Could be heart failure, kidney failure, diabetes, thyroid problems or something else altogether.

Please take your dog to a vet ASAP! They will know what is going on.

Agree with LR

Your dog is in shock, internal organs are probably involved to some degree. This is a URGENT situation and the dog should go to the vet NOW.

Do not feed/water the dog until you get to the vet.

It could be pancreatitis or yes diabetes even....other more serious conditions like cancer.

Keep the dog warm, covered with a blanket, ....especially during transport to the animal clinic/hospital

Twisted stomach

A torsioned stomach will do that too.
Dog needs to be seen by a vet at once.

Could you provide an update as to what the outcome was for your dog? I am very courious. I just posted an example of Pancreatitis under the question asked by Solomon and it sounds like the same issue.

Please keep us posted.
Thank you!
