Even in the testimonial part.The woman who was asking about her 18 month old mix.He was VERY straight forward with her.Not sure she liked what he had said.Tough boobies for her though.LOL

It was just sad about the death of the child.An how the owner didn't even care.And he even went to court and testified against her.What a B***H.....She had no remorse what so ever....

I totally agree.And I think all shelters and rescues and even vet offices should also.

I've seen a brochure around, I can't remember who put it out but it circulates in shelters. Gives basic information but they could do better yes.

Not to mention they should have public service announcements as well.

I'm just wondering something...when you adopt from humane society do they ask if you have children and ages?

I know when we adopted Liz from the pound it was a sheet to say we take ownership..the fellow said the was a guarntee and said when we walk out the door the guarentee ended. chuckle chuckle yea right!

Well I know that our SPCA does ask.

They ask how many and how old.

They have everything about the dog on their computer.The dogs likes,dislikes.

A family had their eye on a Shepherd/Lab mix...But it broke their heart that this dog was not good around children.The parents tried to talk the SPCA into letting them adopt him.The woman at the SPCA said that they don't work that way.If they know a dog is not good with children,they will not adopt the dog out to them,as they would never put a child in that situation.

I love our SPCA..They are just amazing.

i think alot of people tend to forget that a dog can be a type of weapon and at times incredibly unpredictable, i still dont leave my 8yo girl (had since pup) alone with small kids, it isnt i dont trust her, i dont trust the kids not to do something to her (hurt her) and she may just react. and in australia it is against the companions animal act to leave a child under 12 yo with a dog unsupervised. but i have yet to see a parent that has let a dog attack be convicted, they usually get fined. and here, you can just have a dog from the pound or most rescue centers, no Q's asked

when I was out looking for a dog companion for Chocolate, the animal shelter staff were far too irritating.

over & over, they're state that a dog or another couldn't be around children.


I DON'T HAVE ANY CHILDREN!!

better yet, my bf & I don't intend to EVER have any children!

we treat the dogs, at times, as tho they'd be our own completely.



I sensed it had a lot to do with the fact that we are a young couple.




I'm highly not fond of those "assessments." I feel as tho I'm @ a job interview. like, HELLO, I want to HELP this dog & welcome him/her into my LOVING home...

ya, they worry about the dog not fitting in, but come on, I go Chocolate from the Scar. SPCA when he was 10wks, if I survived that, I SURELY can survive another dog.
