"Pet Celebration Cake"
Good for dogs or cats
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder Combine in a bowl and set aside. 1/2 c. cooking oil 1/2 c. coarse liverwurst 4 1/4 oz. jar of strained beef (or veal) with broth (baby food) 4 large eggs Beat together in a separate bowl until smooth. 4 beef jerky treats for dogs, broken into small peices Fold jerky into wet ingredients. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed. Pour batter into a greased 8 inch round pan and bake at 324 F for about 50 minutes, or until cooked through. cool in pan. process cheese slices for garnish In the book, the author took cheese slices and letter cookie cutters and cut the letters of the dogs name out of the cheese slices, and put it on top of the cake after it was turned out on a platter. I bet you could "ice" the cake with peanut butter, then put the chease slices name on top as well. You could probably use any babyfood, including a veggie one as well. My dog loves beets, so If I was making it, I would use pureed beets instead.

for a healthier version
substitute 4 beef jerky treats (lots of preservatives and die for dogs with allergies) with Natural Balance Beef Log, use about 1/8 of the log cut into tiny bits.

that's a great idea too! In fact, you might just be able to substitute any of the roll foods (natural balance or rollover) for the jerky or even for the liverwurst. As long as the moisture and consistency are similar, it shouldn't affect the cake at all.
If I was doing the cake, because Odin has allergies, I would use a canned dog food that Odin could eat in the place of the liverwurst, and salmon rollover (new) as the jerky, and veggie baby food.
