Introducing ...... Eve!

Meet Eve! She is almost two years old and is an Elf Cat! I just brought her home today, so she is still settling in. Keep your fingers crossed that she fits in here!! I am taking her to get spayed this week so hopefully once she doesn't have raging hormones she will settle in nicely.

I didn't really want to adopt anymore cats, but I really was heartbroken over Amira so the breeder that rescued her offered me one of her retired breeding/show kitties for no charge. I have to keep that hush-hush for the people that know her so people don't get jealous or something stupid.

She's very healthy and is free of all genetic diseases and whatnot So yay, for once I can have a cat that has all it's body parts, has no extra chromosomes and probably won't drop dead on me tomorrow! Having so many special needs animals has kind of beat the hell out of me, as much as I love them dearly and will always try and help the special ones, I really just needed a cat that's not falling apart.

Ummm she's has big eyes and interesting ears? LOL

Is she suppose to look like that or did something happen to her ears? Cause I have never heard of an ELF cat before. Is she just one of a kind or did the lady mean to breed her like that? I mean, did she see a cat with different ears and just breeding them with other kitties with different ears and viola! came up with a bunch that all have long thin ears?

I'm glad she is healthy so u won't have to worry about her. And once she gets spayed she will settle right in and give u lots of lovings!

Thanks guys. Yeah, the Elf breed is an outcross between the Sphynx and the American Curl. They are... interesting... cats to say the least The breeder who rescued Amira takes really good care of her kitties, so little Eve is in tip-top shape She doesn't like to have her queen have more than 2 or 3 litters because she worries about their health, so Eve is ready to be spayed and live out her life as a pet

Lol... well long story short, she was not working out Eve really hated my other cats and was trying to attack them under the door... and the breeders mom who adopted her out to me was really missing her as well, so I ended up bringing her back yesterday, and the breeder had another retired girl who was ready to go home that I brought back instead.

Sooo here is Makalia! (Mah-kayla). She seems to be fitting in MUCH better. I let Mr. Kitten come in and they sniffed each other and she had no problem with him. She just needs to get spayed soon as well

She's a black tabby.. sort of a smokey color and has stripes on her legs. She is much more laid back than Eve... Eve was super high strung, so given how she was trying to attack the cats under the door pretty severely, I was nervous about having her in the house.

Sorry it didn't work out with Eve.

However, Makalia is an equally beautiful girl.

Glad to hear she is fitting in with the other kitties already.

Congratulations, again.

Eve was a beautiful girl, it's too bad she didn't work out.
This is very pretty too, though she looks like an alien to me ... but a pretty one!!!

I'm very sorry to hear about Amira, she was such a little doll.

Thanks Eve went back to her family and they are going to work with her to see what they can do. Makalia seems very happy so far, she is getting along with Mr. Kitten (my test subject for everything haha) so she should do just fine.

She looks much happier in the second pic!! Ahhh no hairballs!! Sure they need baths but if they get started as kittens...I've always wanted to feel a Sphynx kitty! I've seen them at cat shows but there it's pretty much hands off. I love the way Coco feels after he's been clipped down. Just like velvet.

Haha well they feel like suede/peach fuzz. It's hard to explain. See, my first sphynx (Amira) was sooo sick her whole life she felt like you were petting an old leather couch that was left out in the sun.. lol... but normal sphynx feel very soft

So far introductions are going well. Mr. Kitten of course LOVES Makalia, but he loves everyone Brought in Maxwell for a second and not surprisingly he had a hissy fit and ran back out the door leaving Mak totally bewildered haha. I brought in Tripod just now and it was going well until he bopped her in the forehead for no reason and scared the crap out of her, so they each hissed and then I put him back out of my room.

Hopefully Maxwell will come to terms with Makalia cause she sure is so gosh darn cute.

There's something about a Sphynx's eyes that is so mesmerizing.

YESS it is exactly like that! When I first introduced Amira to them, they were like "EW who let this mangey rat in the house!" LOL! Even Mr. Kitten was like what is this? hehehe. It took them some time to get used to her. haha!

Kathryn did u put a gate in front of the room she was in and let the other cats one at a time sniff her? Exchange bedding with each other etc?

I'm sorry about Eve but hopefully this one will work out better. *S* She looks soft.

I don't have any more baby gates lol I broke them all. I just play "musical rooms" haha and move her from one room to the next etc and mix up everyones bedding and use the Feliway and trade litterboxes and stuff. She's actually loose in the house right now for a bit and seems to be doing fine!
