Smile I got a new puppy!

Marley is my very first puppy, I have had him now for almost 4 weeks. He is a Chihuahua that is 13 weeks old now. I cant believe how much this little guy has a hold on my heart. I knew having him was going to be a huge responsibility but I feel like I just had another new baby! He is very clingy right now, mainly to me only. I hope in time he will grow to be a confident dog! He brings so much joy into my life and I adore this little guy with every fiber in my body!!

Congrats on the new puppy. If I may make a few suggestions to you to raise a confident Chi. Let him walk don't carry him around, they really want to socialize. When he gets a bit older a puppy socialization class will build confidence. Sadly so many end up in rescues because they are aggressive, and most of it occurs from being over protective. I have friend who has a great one his bff is a Neapolitan Mastiff who is 210 pounds. He is treated just like a big dog and I think he thinks he is too. We love pics please post some.

Congrats on the puppy and welcome. Have to agree with mastifflover, don't treat him like a baby and he won't turn out like one. Pics are a definite requirement.

I was going to say that too about not carrying the dog all the time. I had a client that bred Chi and he a Chi that had a so much confident Coco did not know he was a small dog.

What is your dog name?
