LP, you have done an amazing job with Cuddles and her puppies .

So glad that Cuddles did well with her surgery and hopefully she gets to find her well deserved forever home soon .

I was wondering the same thing...but I was just waiting to see what Shay was up to...didn't want to scare her off if she was thinking of adopting Cuddles herself. Though I KNOW Shay and hubs would make a GREAT FOREVER FAMILY!!

We just got in 30 minutes ago. Cuddles is super dopey and not wanting to eat right now. She's on antibiotics (4 rotten teeth were pulled) and Tramadol. She cried when she saw me but then slept on Sandman's lap all the way home. She's set up in Tayler's room sound asleep right now but I'll try to get her up in a bit to take her meds and I can get a bit of food into her.

I didn't see the vet tonight, only a tech. When she peed when we arrived home though, I saw no blood for the first time since she gave birth .

if she is still very groggy as happens with little dogs and all she went through, she might be abit afraid of choking.. have something mushy? lola was like that after her dental, kinda drunk for a few days

I have canned puppy food. I'm hoping she'll have at least a mouthful as I have to give her meds and she's supposed to have it with food. I'm not used to dogs being "drunk"...all puppies we've fostered turn into hyper spazzes after anesthesia .

So glad she is home safe and sound. Will surely recover much better now under your loving care.

Did they give you pills or liquid Tramadol? It tastes awful We had to bury it in peanut butter for Ginger and Hobo and even at that, by the end they could even spit it out from that

It also made them both very very dopey and tired. Cause upset tummies too. I know, a lot to deal with but just sharing what I learned.

Hopefully sweet Cuddles will be right as rain in no time

Capsules. Poor baby, I have to shove my fingers down her throat so she doesn't spit it back up and shes a bit constipated. Other than that, Cuddles is the best patient ever . She ate a tbsp of canned puppy food last night and refused everything but a tbsp of oatmeal and chicken this morning. I'm glad she's sleeping a lot though, I figure that way she doesn't feel much pain.

Chico, why do you take Tramadol? I didn't realize it was a human drug too.

LP,I take tramacet/tramadol for osteoarthritis in my hip and back, getting old and all that, they don't work all that great though and one of the side-effects is itchy skin, which I get.

Sorry Shaykeija, it's been rather hectic here lately .

Cuddles is doing amazingly well. Her appetite is right where it should be now...she gets rewarded with chicken (which is her favorite) if she eats at least 1/4 can of puppy food first . This morning she was at her perkiest and doesn't seem to be in pain any longer.

Something I noticed yesterday...she 'looks' different. I thought it was my imagination but even dh commented about it. Her face looks much more relaxed is the only way I can describe it. Maybe because all her bad teeth were pulled ? One bonus about that is that her breath smells much better now and she can kiss me all she likes . I'll try to get some photos posted later on.

Now if you posted some pics we could offer our opinion on whether she looks different too

Glad to hear she is doing so well.
