Boy Saves Puppy From Hawk

BOSTON -- An 11-year-old Weston boy is being called a hero after he saved his puppy from a hawk.

Chris Campo was just about to come back in from taking his dachshund out when it happened. A red-tailed hawk swooped down, headed straight for Chris and his pooch.

That's when Campo jumped into action. He stepped on the hawk's wing and kicked it in its head.

The hawk kept at it until it finally gave up and flew into a nearby tree.

Campo and his family were shocked at the strength of the bird.

The Massachusetts Audobon Society said hawks ordinarily pose no danger to humans.
