Lost Beagle in Chatham, ON

My Beagle got away from me today on her leash, she is a tri-coloured beagle and was wearing a black coat with white fur trim, reflective vest and a retractable leash.
She was a rescue adoption so she is very timid. She is great with people but spooks very easily.
We have searched our area for hours and hours and are unable to locate her. We miss her so much!
If anyone from Chatham, Ontario that lives in the area surrounding the new courthouse/skatepark area has seen or has our girl Bernie (Bernadette) please let us know.
You can call the Chatham OSPCA or local radio stations, they have our information.
We anxiously await the return of our little girl.

Thanks for your help

I bookmarked this site when we lost Bernie and was just sorting through my bookmarks and re-visited it.
Thank you all for your kind replies.

Bernie learned a lesson that day I think. As I said previously, she was rescued (we believe she was in a puppy mill) before we adopted her. She is still a bit timid but is coming along great! Her confidence is up...she's playing and is showing more and more confidence everyday...she is pretty much a regular beagle now!

She spent the night in a ravine when I lost her....and we think she kept trying to find her way home but would get spooked by cars or people approaching her. The nice stranger that phoned the OSPCA to alert them of her whereabouts said that she approached Bernie and she quickly scurried back into a yard and disappeared.
I managed to track her down in the ravine and bring her home (after fighting through bushes and thorns that tore apart my VERY expensive leather jacket...but it was worth it!)

It's nice to know there are sites like this that give owners somewhere to go when they feel they have looked everywhere. Extra sets of eyes certainly help. I'm confident that people finding lost animals these days will quickly turn to the internet to search for any notices regarding missing pets...these sites are a great tool!

Just thought I'd share this update that Bernie (what a cute picture!) is still home, safe and isn't so quick to runaway when spooked on walks. She actually turns to go home now when something scares her.....she's one girl that has definitely learned her lesson the hard way! And we learned our lesson....we've purchased better leashes, collars/harnesses and are extra careful with her...not to say we weren't careful before...but now we are....dare I say...overprotective?

Awwww

What a nice update! I was not a member of this site when she had gone missing But I am happy to see her returned home & that she is doing great since.

And that you as her leader have become over-protective Good job.
