Smile Skunk chaos at the neighbors

Well,I have known for quiet a while there are 2 skunks living in the junk in Baileys owners backyard,I watch them every night.

Last night as I went out to scare away a kitty, bothering my boys in the window, this little Schnautzer came running, barking in Baileys yard, ran right by the place where the skunks were.
Needless to say he got skunked as did every room in my house

The Scnautzer belongs to Baileys owners in-laws,I felt really sorry for that little very excitable pup,but was very happy it was not Bailey that got skunked.
I know I should probably tell Baileys owners where the skunks live, but he would try to poison them or something like that.
Bailey is not really in danger of being skunked, she goes and does her stuff and wants right back inside.
Maybe they'll even take her for a walk at night now, when they know there are skunks around

Frenchy,a couple of years ago, when Bailey got skunked, she had to stay in the tool-shed for more than a week, until the smell had subsided.
I feel sorry for any animal that gets skunked, but I am glad it was not Bailey..

I think, hope, they have moved on,now that their "home"has been discovered.

Geez Chico, the more I hear about your neighbours the more I don't like them.

It must smell lovely around your house.

GG,it's not really up to me,they are not in my yard and any wild-life people will charge at least $300 to remove skunks.

One good thing came out of this, the kids(teenagers)are WALKING Bailey, afraid to let her in the backyard I guess.
But the 2 skunks only come out at night and they come to my backyard,I see them under my birdfeeders.
There is no danger for my cats, they are not out at night.

To be absolutely honest,I think they are beautiful, the male is large, with a wide white stripe, the female only has a diamond-shaped white spot.
I am hoping they will just go elsewhere, since they know they've been discovered.
I did not see them last night.
If Baileys owner did not keep all the junk in their backyard, the Skunks would not have a place to make their home.

We had a skunk in our yard last year, it's stil in the neighbourhood. It was very peacable. Even got startled by Sunshine early one morning and refraind from spraying. If you just leave them alone and avoid startling them, they are harmless. Back off when you see the tail go up, and they won't spray. They eat june bug larvae, so I really like them.

OBC,I tend to agree with you, they are not bothering us or the cats.
Today,Baileys owner took wheelbarrows full of junk, moved it from one corner to the corner where I know the skunks are,I hope they did not get hurt.

Is it the norm for one female and a male to stay together

I don't know. Could it be a mom and one of this year's almost grown babies?

When I went to get Bailey,I checked the back and it was bricks that he dumped on the spot where I suspect the Skunks are.
But I would think if they were in trouble there would be a stink.
I'll watch for them tonight.

OBC,I think it's a male and female the female being smaller and they were doing there thing one night
