Question hind legs and butt shaking

My 2 year old Rott/Basset Mix often has a bout of his hind legs shaking. It seems to be mostly when he is happy to see someone and excited, but also when he is scolded or told "No".

I have asked 2 different vets about it, my regular vet and a specialist but both just seem to brush it off. Do you think it may just be like little dogs?? I often see then shake/quiver.

I just hope it's not something wrong with him.....Anyone else have doggies with this??

you don't mean a wiggle butt do you?

Does your dog have a short tail?

My dog does this when he is excited, sort of like an extension of his tail, he uses his butt to wag his tail.

DOn't know about the thing when he is being bad though.

Chihuahuas do this when they are happy and sad and my moms basset hound also does this I dont think its anything to worry about. Even a great dane can do it when happy and when being scolded.
