Ok so I caved

I saw how much fun 14+'s kities were having on their tree and I had seen a tree I liked at petsmart on sale..so I bought it Petsmart is next to costco so I checked out the costco one again hoping I could save some cash and still score them a great tree but although the tree is indeed great I think my kitties would knock it over (onnie is not 3 pounds, lol).

Anyhoooo the pics

What is the first thing that nominator does??? Why nom the tassle thing of course!

Then I went downstairs and they followed me, at which point I worried the tree has lost appeal . But then I went back upstairs after dinner and both galloped back up and this is how they are sleeping now *bunduk woke up because of the flash*

So ya, although even on sale it still cost me a pretty penny I think it was money well spent

Bunduk was climbing it like a monkey already He fell off twice Onnie climbs to level two then jumps on the couch then on to the last level...always my little chicken lol. Oh and yes, Onnie is the king of the hill!

LOl i thought it was weird too angeldogs...guess he mustve found it comfortable

cpietra, I always thought they were too expensive and one day I could make one for cheaper. The problem is I have never used a tool in my life except to hang a picture/ put together furniture from a box Since this tree was $40 off I thought I might as well go for it. It caught my eye before 14+ posted the pics of her gang with their new tree but I was still kinda unsure, what if I spent all that money and they didnt like it? Thankfully I dont have that problem

I hear you...I tried to make one as well...didn't get done...I caved in. I actually had 2 of them but when we moved from BC to Quebec, my ex forgot to pack them....( don;t like him very much)...anyway...they have always been a great hit with all my cats....by the way...not that its important when it comes to your cats and what makes them happy...but wait until they start shredding the carpet.... get the vacuum ready

Awww, glad you caved! The boys look like they are having a ball on the tree! And it matches the carpet in the room so well. Looks like it was made for the room.
My guys are using theirs more. Most of them love it. Mittens and Mylee are on it a little but the smaller ones are on quite a bit. It's a hit! Strange thing is..... my kitties don't like the spray on catnip or actual catnip much. But I did read once that sometimes cats don't develop a taste for nip until they are over a year old.
Are Bunduk and Onnie using the house part at the bottom or just the shelves?
Good buy! No waste of money at all!!

cpietra id be mighty mad at the ex too!!

14+, just as I had expected/feared they really arent using the 'house' There was one without a house but a tube instead - however it was $75 more!! ouch. lol Both of them did go in to explore but then didnt go in after I guess its more appealing being on the top bunk lol. Are ure guys using it?

Some kitties dont respond to catnip at all. My bros cat in Egypt doesnt care at all Ive read that it may be genetic...

Looks like you picked a good one... it's got slappy fight appeal!! I like the little house thing... none of mine have that... maybe I need another tree too, then I'd have one tree for every two cats!

"slappy fight appeal!!" good one kr

The tree looks great so much fun and placed beside the window the top 2 levels should get lotsa use for peeking out

Did you spray the inside of the house with the nip spray?

onster - The little ones go in to check it out and normally back out. TT was in it for a bit of a rest the other day planning some other mischief. Mittens and Mylee go in, give it a check, and leave. I put one of their blankets in it. Thought maybe it would help. We'll see. They are using the rest of it though so that's great! Mine isn't as tall as yours is. That will be the next one I either buy or build.

LOL slappy appeal, I love it!!! hahahaha

OMG the tree is such a huge success!! they love it!

growler, yep I sprayed inside too but no real interest.

14+ I had another tree which is shorter and kinda like yours with those balls and balls they bat around..Ive been getting them several little scratchy posts to make up for the fact that I dont have a big one so you kinda move up in steps Im sure you could build them a wonderful one!

That's a great one. I need to get mine one like that. The one I have is sort of small for them now. I like how that one has a platform on top and the house.

They look like they're having a good time.

Ag, it is a good investment and they do love it. However, take your time.. it took me 3 years to get this one (cost-benefit analysis lol) but it makes it all that much sweeter when u finally do get it! I made a promise to myself that this is the last kitty furniture thing they are getting for a long long time.

yes he does remind me of bunduk

Onster, I made the mistake of buying the one I currently have when they were all still small. Vlad and Oksana were only 6 & 7 months old, and I hadn't even found Maks and Kiska yet but when I did they were little kittens too.

So something bigger would be nice. But yeah, believe me, I'm shopping around.
