Some random Picatures now that I have this figured out.

I hope lol

Here we have a Meiko in his natural habitat trying to find trails he was following before the snow hit.

From scent hound to sight hound, the Meiko spots his target and gets ready for launch.

A young inexperienced Tibetan Mastiff named Karma watches from afar

She too mimics the Meiko's moves and takes off in pursuit

A moderately wooly Beauty ( I am aware of the poor quality of hay, the horses are moving soon)

Its just so hard to explain to this pretty mare that I just simply can not even begin to afford another horse, it breaks my heart.
Poor Dakota.

Even she doesn't like the hay much around there.

Titan zoomies, trying to entice Bailey to play... not gonna happen

May as well just sit nicely with him then

They all are looking good.you do have a wonderful looking fur family.
Titan is a cutie, and the horses are beautiful.

Things with B are going, literally
His eye sight is not near what it was before and we often find him doing some of the strangest things in the house ( ie, standing in front of walls and growling at them for no reason) but those days are few and far between thankfully.
His heart is still pumping good, we havent had to increase any meds yet *keeps fingers crossed we never have to
He is losing some strength in his rear, he can no longer jump on the couch or bed by himself, we help him up when we wants to go up.
His quality of life is still good, but we fear that over the course of the next year or so, it could start to diminish.
I took Rottielovers advice and wrote down some things that I felt would signal that his QOL was slipping and gave it to his vet and my good friend. I don't want to keep him alive for my selfish reasons if he is indeed not living the way he should.
Outsider views are great for pointing out when you're getting selfish.
But both his vet and my friend say he is still doing well.

omd, erykah, I can't believe how Karma has grown!! Such a beautiful lady... towering over Meika!!!

Despite Bailey's troubles, he's still looking awfully good! that you get lots more time with him. But you've given him such a happy retirement that I'm sure he thinks he's already in heaven!

It's a shame you can't afford Dakota, but at least you know your limits. hazel is a little shaky on limits that Dakota finds a good home soon!

Great pics, erykah!! I love looking at your bunch!

Hazel its hard to set a limit. I could easily afford to purchase and keep Dakota if no one ever got sick. If I knew that would happen then I would, but... horses are the most accident prone animals known to man I swear. I just don't want to get in over my head, more so than I am now with the dogs, cats, rabbits and horses. If everyone of them needed to see the vet in the same month, I would be living in my car down by the river.

Oh, believe me, I can relate! Our average vet bill is running somewhat over $300 a visit...and we typically have multiple visits per month. Some of our visits have come to $900!!

I think English setters must be right up there with horses in being accident prone and seem to be prone to sharing illnesses. *sigh* Luckily we knew that before we increased the Pack size, so we weren't totally unprepared for the financial hit. But with the job environment the way it is right now it's making us a tad nervous.

I love em wooly like that too, I wish Beauty had gotten more wooly but I guess with her extra thick fat layer insulating her she didn't have any need to fuzz up for winter like Fay did. ( Who is still not gaining much weight and it really bothers me... part of it has to do with the hay where they are, its not that great of stuff as you can see in the pics)
