Bump on Puppy's Head?! :(

Hi everyone!
Just the other day, I noticed a little bump on the top of my puppy's head. He's 8 months old and it's just recently appeared. It hasn't gotten any bigger or smaller within the last few days and I'm just being told that it's a pimple or something along those lines. Since it's not changing in size and is very hard to the touch I thought that perhaps the advise I had gotten was wrong and thought I'd throw it out to you guys. It doesn't hurt him when it's touched and there's a little bit of hard blood that surrounds the base of the bump as well. I'm taking him in to the vet at the end of the week to be fixed so I'm going to ask them then but does anyone else have any suggestions in the meantime?

Here is the only picture I could get him to stay still long enough for me to take:

It looks a little like the benign histiocytoma's our guys used to get when they were younger. As I recall, the vets told us that with time, they usually resolve. But our furkids were always overactive little guys and kept breaking them open, so we had most of them surgically removed. We always had them checked out by a vet, though, to be sure, so I'm glad you're going in soon and can get a definitive answer!

...

Thanks so much for the quick replies!
I'm glad that from other people's points of view (as well as mine) it doesn't seem too serious.
He has an appointment to get fixed in 5 days so I'm definitely going to get them to take a look at the bump as well to be sure it's nothing harmful to my little man's health.

Thanks again!

Update!

Hemi's neutering went great yesterday. He's still a little tired and wobbly but for those of you that were curious; it turns out the bump on his head was actually a (non-threatening) spider bite! They said it should be gone within 2 weeks and it's nothing to worry about. Very weird!!!
