Cold paws on a minpin.

Need some ideas for boots for the girlfriends mini pinscher. Tried on every pair of boots we've seen and nothing fit, or would stay on. If you're familiar with a minpin, his paws aren't very big, and legs are thin/spindly. GF bought some balm last night, didn't seem to do anything, if anything it made it worse. We're hitting -25C and lower at night.

He can't spend more than a few minutes outside, paws start to get cold and he will start to lift his paws and whimper in pain. Been thinking of fingers from a wool glove, but how would one keep it from unraveling? We're not looking to keep him outside for long, just 10 minutes even to make sure he vacates.

Any ideas?

Put some kind of tape around the top , like masking tape? Do you have any old leather gloves or rubber gloves for washing dishes , you could put the wool finger tips inside the fingers tips of the rubber gloves. Then put that on your doggie paws . Would that work??

Hmmm, might be kind of thick but worth the try. Oh the fun of trying to wrestle a 10 pound dog to get boots on him

Her mother is going to knit some "socks" for him that run up most of the leg. Biggest issue is when he stands, the leg is straight with no joint to hold them up. We'll rig them up in some suspender fashion, should be fine. Will have them in a few days.

I'll post some pics, have to take him down tomorrow for some measurements.

In the meantime, here he is doing what he does best, loves the heat of the sun. GF in one chair, him in the other He wasn't docked btw, he was the runt of the litter and born without a tail, just a little stump to wag but wag it he does... Handsome little bugger if I do say so myself.

Yes he is very handsome . He has big paws , I don't think the tips if gloves would fit on his paws.

The pic is deceiving, his paws aren't overly big. My mother sent me a pair of wool gloves that are too big for me, but i'm not good enough with a needle to cut the fingers off and do anything with them. Gramma is going to knit him up some socks with some kind of a pad, see how that goes.
