Let me tell you, this is very upsetting as I have supported them many times for pictures with my daughter. I will be one of those people who send that email.

You would think that being a site that involves animals, the people running it would be animal lovers. Why on earth would they continue to feed on and spread these ridiculous prejudices?

Awwww. Come on! Tell us what your really think! ROFLMAO!

I know that they have received e-mails (including photos) from all over Canada and the U.S. I hope that their inboxes are just PACKED with e-mails educating them on the gentle natures and loving temperments of these dogs.

You know,LMPG,you were the first one I thought of and that beautiful pic you have with your two Pitties on the couch, your Rottie between them,a testament to both breeds, but you don't have to defend yourself against ignorant people,we all know better.
Also Rottielover, your two Rotties are equally wonderful dogs, this kind of thing makes my blood boil,,unfortunately ignorance breeds more ignorance

...Sorry, sometimes my emotions get the best of me, this has been such a horrible day and then reading about the exclusion of my chosen "breeds" just pushed me over the edge a bit....ok a lot

Situations like this (and BSL) make me so upset! I won't tell my two Rotties... who are currently sprawled out on the bed with me... it amazes me that people can accept the negative stereotypes when overwhelmingly Rotties and Pits are wonderful family pets. And awfully photogenic I might add I hope the good ambassadors for the breeds will be able to educate the public about their truly good nature.

After I read all the comments from you guys I was so upset that I took some of the smart things you guys said and sen email to a few people including PETA also the REal picture of the contest.

To: suggestion@magentaphoto.com; communication@magentaphoto.com; commandite@magentaphoto.com; hr@magentaphoto.com; service@magentaphoto.com; pub@magentaphoto.com; president@doglegislationcouncilcanada.org; ateam@peta.org; kinsen@sen.parl.gc.ca; dtoth@mla.legassembly.sk.ca

Obviously uneducated, this contest that bans Pit bulls and Rottweilers is highly discriminating and breed prejudice not to mention narrow-minded and ill informed And please do not use the lame excuse:
"The breeds mentioned in our contest are banned [by breed specific legislation] in several cities, districts, and one entire province in which our studios are located" Pittbulls & Rotties are not banned in Brossard, QC! for example, this is a bad sign and It's so unfortunate and damaging to people like me,that help your company buying the calendar is so reactionary. Pits and rottweilers are such sweet animals, when raised properly. Their natural demeanor is friendly and mellow.Any animal -- from a Yorkie to a Ridgeback -- can and will be aggressive if their owners allow them to be, if they are abused, or if they are rewarded for that type of behavior. I wish that more people would learn about and educate others about these dogs.I can understand the temperment thing, but don't draw conclusions and single out breeds...just have "must have good temperment" or 'behaved dogs that don't endanger security"or "certain breeds are not allowed at all locations" in the rules.

You completely wasted your time sending this to PETA. If you do a bit of digging, you will find that PETA is a huge supporter of pit bull bans across North America. I am fairly certain that if you REALLY look into PETA and what they really want, you will not be much of a fan.

The Dog Legislation of Canada strongly opposes any business that discriminates against breeds or mixed breed of dogs and their responsible owners.

Your company obviously hasn't taken the time to enlighten and inform itself.

We have rights as Canadians. And we chose not to support discrimination in any form.

My family includes my dog,my Canada includes all breeds and mixed breeds.
