two different retail stores all of a sudden are not carrying it anymore and no explaination as to why......i think it might be the cost but who knows.

Lettin the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin it back in.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain't gonna happen anyway.

I haven't heard anything... I know some here stopped carrying it because demand was too low... Did you ask them why?

I recently changed Bilbos food to Solid Gold Wolfking. I have to order if at the store near me. Because it's expensive and people don't buy if often, they don't want to keep it on the shelf.
My dog loves it, but we still have problems with poop - it's not so firm sometimes and it's difficult to pick it up
I would be interested to know if there is any other reason, why sellers don't want to keep it in store.

The pet store I use has a very large selection of premium foods... so was suprised that they didnt carry the Solid Gold. ( was looking for Just a Wee Bit)
Never asked why... but found it yesterday at another outlet.

Pet Valu doesn't keep it on the shelf but will order it for you. Global stocks it. I switched where I bought from since it was easier to go and get it than have to order it. I was at the Global booth at a dog festival yesterday. They aren't ceasing to stock it, so I'm doubtful it's due to a problem with it.

Did you try cutting back a bit? My doggies' stools were not the greatest until 4 months after I started... But they're both very sensitive. I'd try cutting back a bit first and see how it goes.

Oh, I know one store in Montreal that won't carry it. The owner told me Solid Gold food isn't natural. But she carries Eagle Pack, which IMO is more unnatural than most others that claim to be holistic.

I ran into the stocking issue with Solid Gold as well. I visited the only store in my town listed as a supplier on the SG website (although I've found two others who carry it), and they had discontinued stocking due to low demand. As for the other two, they carry it in such small quantities and so sporadically, it just became impossible to find.

I looked into shipping it, but the fees are astronomical ($20US to ship a 33lb. bag).

I switched over to Timberwolf Organics. The results have been equally good, but I'd still be on Solid Gold if I had my choice.

I was looking for it a couple months ago and the pet store said that the ladies that ran the show split, one took the solid gold name and products, the other started her own new line, so they lost their supplier.

I dont know how accurate this it though!

Yeah, great taste, eh? Really smart owners.

Why would you pay $40 a bag for something that's like 80% corn? At least the dogs can use the water.

I've encountered the same problem here. When I'm running low I have to call the store in Verdun ... then he'll order it otherwise you can only buy a small bag. Mine were on Solid Gold Hollistic Blend. Although I'm happy with the results of Miti's weight Brandi hasn't benefited at all from this product as she also has digestive problems.

I just switched to Eagle Pack Hollistic Duck and Oatmeal Formula << I have a feeling I'll have to call in advance for this one as well. I'm so hoping here that this is a good poduct as well

The good pet-food store on the south shore just started carrying Solid Gold. I'm switching Buster to the Wolf King (hopefully he'll do better on that than Wellness....) Buster's got a really sensitive tummy, I'm hoping I won't have too many problems with the switch
Should I gradually change him over (mixing the Wolf King with Wellness) or, seeing as how he's not digesting the Wellness very well, just switch over...maybe fast him for a day before the switch.... ???

I'd still do it gradually, meb, but reduce the quantity overall.

Golden Girls, I don't know if they're close to you, but I'm sure Club k-9 or Little bear would have some selection... There's a small one on Monkland that carries all the Eagle Packs too (last time I checked).

Which store is this? The only place on the south shore that has carried it was Canin Felin and the last time I was there (granted it was about a year ago) they told me they weren't going to carry it anymore because of low demand. Has something changed?????

Right now I am ordering it through a supplier in the U.S. Big time savings by the way but I have to pick it up. I am paying $38.00 U.S. for a 33 lb bag. With the exchange rate around 10% it costs me about $45.00 cdn a bag. The only problem is that it is out of the way and with the price of gas the savings are no longer worth it unless of course I am going that way.

Yeah it's Canin Felin (on st-denis in St-Lambert).é They just started carrying it again..but call ahead of time, because they don't stock up their shelves!
They also only have the HUGE bag, so I asked the owner to order me a small bag, and he said 'no problem'!!
