Chattering Teeth
I have noticed reciently that all four of my dogs on different occasions have been chattering their teeth. They are not cold and have no reason to be doing so, it can go on for several minutes, or for only a few chatters. If you touch their mouth they stop, so it seems they can control it, however once you move your hand away they do it again. When I first saw it I thought it was funny because it appeared as though they were trying to talk. But the more that I saw them do it, I am conserned it is the mildest of a seizure or something of the sort. Have you ever heard of this before?

I have one dog that started doing this recently. I attributed it to her being under stress because she has kidney problems and I have to put food in her mouth which she does eat. She also trembles...do your dogs tremble too? I mentioned this to my vet and he wasn't concerned but now I'm wondering if maybe I should be. If you see your vet, let us know what his opinion is. I would be even more concerned since all of your dogs are doing this.

my dog did this once when she got super excited about going to the park. She was jumping around and chattering her teeth.
My dogs also do this when they lick something that tastes different or whatever. I dont think this is whats happening with your dogs, though. good luck! |
