Dog toys for Duke

Hi Pets.ca,

Duke is 5 year old male black lab with a lot of energy and his Kong toy is coming to the end of it's life. I will get Duke a new Kong toy, but can anyone recommend other toys that are extremely durable and great for big strong dogs. I'd like to give Duke more toy variety.

Thanks everybody!

We have a Buster Cube that's very durable, as well. You fill it with a little of their kibble or some small treats and as the dog rolls it around, the food comes out a little at a time. Our dogs love to bat that thing around in the yard. We've had ours for over 10 years now and no one has managed to destroy it

If you Google 'Buster Cube' you can find a lot of info. This one was a nice demo video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPVyX5ilj3g

For my cattle dogs I like the Cuz ball more than the Kong. Roo has an assortment though. A wubba, some big tug ropes, a Kong Frisbee etc..

These are really great ideas and I may spend a few dollars to buy Duke a selection of toys from this list.

Thank-you many times over

One toy that I saw on a social media site recently was a doggy fountain! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...784144&fref=nf

I love how excited he is about it . PS good choice on the Kong toys. My german shepard loves his!

Here is the link from the official Kong website http://www.kongcompany.com/products/...er-toys/traxx/ for a toy I received from shopping online, which is so convenient and it is a tire type of Kong toy. Duke is loving thsi one as well so i thought I would share it with you.

I second the Cuz toy recommendation, but if your dog eats toys, buy the one with stumps instead of feet.

Our Cuz feet are intact the Moots are not terribly enamoured of their Cuz, but the Jolly Ball we bought was an easy target for chewing on the handles. It only lasted about a day before the handle was chewed to pieces and it was in the garbage. I also have a hard time finding toys that are durable enough for heavy chewing large dogs.
