Making the cat urinate/bowel movement after accident

My cat was hit by something, car or human and has some damage. Hes back from the vet after three days. He's in a big dog transport cage as his paw is paralized and I have 6 other cats and a dog. I need some ideas on where he should urniate/have bowel movements as I don't want to move him too much and when hes out of the cage he tires to run away on three legs

I have no problems with him doing it in the cage and having to clean it up but he hasn't urinate/blowe movement since the vets last night and has drank and at a LOT. I've tried to put him into his litter box but again he just wants to run away.

Maybe others will have different advice - but if the cage is big enough - (and the consequences of walking/running at this time are serious) I'd put the litterbox in the cage, at the back of the cage.

Ok so I managed to get him to pee in the litter. Was quite a bit of urine. He was being quite vocal so I had a fresh litter box ready. I let him out and put him in the litter. He layed around forabout 10 seconds on the fresh litter and then repositioned himself up on the edge. Looks like I'll have to get quite a few boxes off litter and change it everytime as he'll have to lay down on the litter and take his time to get into position.
