Feline Leukemia
Hi,
I have two cats that were tested for "feline leukemia" this morning and my vet has advised me the results came back positive. The test was tested with their saliva. The vet has advised me to have their blood tested which would tell us if the cancer is really advanced. Is the cancer like a flew, the cats can transmitt the disease to each other? If the blood test comes back negative, should I be worried they still have the cancer. My vet claims if the blood test comes back negative, the needle shots will "kill" the disease they started to have. Help, is my vet just trying to make money, that is what my husband is saying. He is really upset, and does not believe the vet. Please help, I will have the test results tommorrow or Friday, hope they come out negative. Thanks Nadine |

One of my cats had leukemia. It is not contagious according to my old vet. But it is treatable in the early stages.
My advice is to get a second opinion if you are unsure of the trustworthiness of your vet. |
