GAHHHHH!!!! Creepy!

Okay, I will freely admit that I am not the biggest fan of spiders, despite the fact that as a kid I always seemed to be picking up every other kind of creepy-crawly I could find. Now I'm not one of those people who stand there and scream for someone to come and deal with a spider in shower or anything like that, but I don't like them unless they're outside of my house and someplace where I'm not going to be walking through their webs. Just a couple of minutes ago I had a little meltdown though as I'm sitting here at the computer and all of a sudden some wiggling legs come into my line of sight right in front of my face. The dogs jumped up barking as I was like "AHHHHHHH!!!" and started swatting my hands all over the place in front of my face and shaking out my hair. A spider had been lowering itself down from the ceiling and almost landed on my head, now I feel all creeped out and itchy like there's something crawling on me. I think it was even worse because the room is pretty dark (to cut the glare on the computer screen that would come from the light behind me) so it was just a shadowy movement of something crawly in front of my face.

That is very creepy How's your daughter with spiders?

Three times this year alone I've had a spider crawling on me the 1st & 2nd ones were at work (retail store) they were small spiders ~1cm across but both were crawling across the front of my neck . The 3rd one was a couple of weeks ago in my bathroom while getting ready for work & I felt something tickle my bare back it was a huge spider about 1 inch across crawling up my back .

Just this morning (at 5 am ) I "rescued" a big 1/2 inch spider from the bathroom (luckily I saw it before getting in for my shower) & let it go alive out on the balcony to eat the bugs and it still rained here tonight

Growler, I had no idea that tarantulas were common in BC! An inch!! I like spiders but that would have creeped me out some...

I don't mind the spiders so much, Gail, but it took me a long time to be able to sneer in the face of a tick. They are seriously creepy imo.

1 inch "leg span" across *leg-body-leg* not 1 inch across body only

She doesn't mind them, though I don't think she'd want them coming down on her head either.

I had a run in today too....I was looking through some coats for sizes for a customer and a little orangy brown spider was hanging off one of the coats.... I jumped back and yelped and gave the customers a good laugh!

Spiders usually get a fair warning here... (don't be here when I get back), but they really really creep me out, and there is nothing worse than waking up with a spider bite and knowing a spider had to crawl on you to accomplish it!!!

Ohhh one time I climbed into the tub which was half full, and randomly (completely out of nowhere) a spider dropped into the water. I of course was the model of grace, and launched myself out of the tub in a spray of water, saved the now drowning spider, emptied the tub and used a different bathroom for 2 weeks afterward lol.

As for the wakeing up with a bite, Ive had a nasty bruise for like 5 weeks from a spider bite...thats probably bad...I feel for all you who have creepie crawlie stories lol

Was the launching yourself out of the tub done to save the spider or yourself In that situation I don't think I would be nearly as gracious & forgiving to the interloper

5 weeks *ouch* I've never been biten thankfully

spiders!!!

I hate this time of year in my house, I have no basement, so when the house upstairs is warmer than the crawl space below, I get many many visitors....and yes, they have been living well all year under the house so they are big and fat.

blllllahhhh......got the goosebumps. I have told them (the spiders) if you invade my space bad things will happen. If you just happen to be scurring across the floor, If I am able and the cats, especially my new "killer" Dexter is not around, I will try to safely escort you back outside. After I find big rubber gloves, shoes, and a big enough jar plus the nerve to get near your eight legged body......ewwwwwwww

I don't crawl under the house and bother you, please do not crawl upstairs and bother me. Don't get on me, don't crawl in my bed.....don't hang from the ceiling and scare me. I have seven phone books handy for just those reasons.

great.....now I got to shake this spider funk off of me.........yuucckkkk!

This time of year we are seeing many many Black Widows. And they are BIG! Body about the size of a quarter or bigger. We normally don't have many spiders inside (other than Wolf spiders in the bathroom), but those widows don't stand a chance! They quickly get drowned and flushed (several times!). I hate glossy black spiders, lol.
