No, I'm Not Crazy....

...Dh is . It was all his idea .

Meet Toby, Theo, and Poppy . Approx. 6 1/2 week old LabXs . Mom is a Chocolate Lab, dad a Flat Coated RetrieverX. The first photo is the temporary setup we have for them. Then there's Toby. And Theo and Poppy having a snooze.

aw, I'm in love! Sooooo cute!

And aren't those flexible doggy gates the best? We had them to block off different sections of the house for the first month or so that we brought our boys home. Love them.

It's actually a play pen for toddlers that I picked up at ToysRus. They make these for dogs too? I find it's a lot easier than the x-pens as I just have to climb over rather than climb into . And you can buy extra panels to enlarge it so that's quite convenient for us depending on the sizes/ages of puppies.

ha-ha. We actually borrowed ours from a friend, so I assumed they were specificlly for doggies (she doesn't have any kids).
But they look exactly the same as yours, so that must be where they were from.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Breeze . It's dh that's losing it this time round. First he agrees with Nukka's adoption, then he offers to foster the puppies...he's softening up .

When we were camping this summer I walked by a campsite with a similar setup and was thinking that was a great idea for their dogs (cause there was other dog stuff around) and then later we walked by and they actually had it for their kid . How can you tell I am a fur mom and not a human one .

Should have sent mine out to give him some lessons on how to give up gracefully. He learned pretty quickly although he still tries to pretend he's tough occasionally.

YAY PUPPY PICS

Oh they are adorable, LP

I know that look Penny is giving, it is the same one Puddles gives when I bring a new litter of kittens into the house.

Those pups don't know how lucky they are to end up in your home to be fostered.

Nope, we adopted them all .

Just kidding . Yes, they are fosters. We picked them up yesterday morning and they're settling in quite nicely. They're really quiet but that's likely due to their age. Awfully friendly and they all love to be handled/cuddled .

We do have to expand their pen today to include a separate potty area. It was -17c last night with winds so way too cold to be bringing them out in the middle of the night, brrrr.

Here are individual pics I took of them...in order, Poppy, Toby, and Theo .

Bless your husband's heart LP! I absolutely love the set up you have in the first picture. Did you just lay down tile underneath the fold up baby gate? It just looks so organized, clean and comfy LP that I would love to cuddle up in there too!

But holy catz!! I can't get over how much Toby and Theo look alike!!! The two handsome dudes look identical!

Poppy is the largest of the three and is all black with a fuzzier coat than her brothers. Toby is the smallest with a tiny little splash of white on his chest and has brown feet. Theo's white splash is much larger and his legs are brindle. Up until this afternoon I was still getting the boys mixed up but I've got it now .

We have two huge pieces of thick carton on the floor, then laid vinyl flooring on top of it. For the next 1-2 weeks, they will remain in the garage (it's heated), and then we will move them inside with the rest of the pack. That's when they get their individual crates for naps and night time to make house training easier.

I took a few more pics. Dh in the pen with the pups , and the expanded enclosure he set up today. He opened the playpen up to give them more room for their crate, bowls, and play area, then attached the x-pen for a potty area. He was so excited that they took to it right away .

They range in weight from just under 4 1/2 lbs to 6 1/2 lbs. In no time they'll be bigger and bouncing all over the place though .
